Our visit to St Mary’s Lighthouse

April22

Yesterday, children from year 1 and year 2 visited St Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitly Bay. The weather was fantastic and a great day was had by all! Children participated in a range of activities including: climbing the 137 steps to the top of the lighthouse, exploring rock pools and creating sand art on the beach.

What was your favourite part of the trip?

World Book Day Fun

March11

Today we have made our very own bookmarks, we have drawn some fairy tale pictures and created our own books.

Reading is very important and great fun too! We ask that you all read 3 times per week.

Has anyone read more than that?

Look at our photos to see how much fun we have had!

The mysterious package!

March8

At the start of the spring term, a mysterious egg appeared in our classroom. We have been doing lots of writing such as: wanted posters, questions and letters to the zoo.
Last week we came into school to find that our egg had hatched, but the dinosaur was nowhere to be seen.

Where do you think the dinosaur has gone?

What do you think it looks like?

Has anyone seen it?

What should we do if we find it?

A naughty elf visits year 1!

December1

During the night, year 1 were sent a very special parcel and letter. We opened it this morning to find Winston the naughty elf. He has already created mayhem in our classroom, by throwing tinsel and baubles all around our room! Keep checking this page to see what other mischief he gets up to while he is visiting us!
